The five-time defending Niagara Catholic Athletic Association champion Notre Dame Fighting Irish senior football team opened training camp with plenty to choose from but a shortage at a key position.

“We have some big numbers which is good but we are short on linemen which is bad but we have some good athletes,” head coach Tim Bisci said. “We have some decisions to make which at this time of year is a good thing to have. I’m happy with that and I think we just need to figure out our linemen issues and we should be OK.”

The line has been a strength for the Irish for the last few seasons with several Irish players committing to play at the pst secondary level. But all good things must come to an end.
