New NCAA sports convenor up to the challenge

The newest convenor of the Niagara Catholic Athletic Association and Niagara Catholic District School Board kindergarten to Grade 12 health and physical education consultant brings a lengthy and varied sports resume to the role.

Jennifer Benoit, a 43-year-old Welland native, played all sports growing up in elementary school at St. Kevin’s and at high school at Notre Dame.

Chloe’s back - ND Graduate Playing at Brock U

Things didn’t go as planned after Notre Dame’s Chloe Peters signed a National Letter of Intent in November 2019 to play NCAA Division 1 hoops at Canisius.

“I signed, rehabbed my whole senior year of high school and then it didn’t really improve much so I ended up not going over,” the 20-year-old Welland resident. “I had some disk issues, a few herniated disks that persisted and it came from a buildup of overuse and not resting.”
