Scholarships and Awards
There are a number of ways students can access funding to help defray the cost of post-secondary education. Scholarships are based on academic achievement. Bursaries are based on financial need. Entrance Scholarships are automatically granted by the institution based on the student’s marks.
Nominations for scholarships- There are some scholarships that require a school to nominate a candidate. The committee will use the Grad profile along with transcripts, community service hours and discussions with classroom teachers. At times, interviews will be conducted with students as required.
Any scholarships that we receive will be placed in folders displayed in the Grad Corner. Students are advised to frequently check for new scholarships.
A list of Scholarships available to all students at Niagara Catholic District School Board is available at under Student Achievement at: https://mywayto.niagaracatholic.ca/graduate-scholarships.html
Numerous other awards are available outside the school through various websites. Students are encouraged to look at the sites and determine whether they meet the award criteria. Also, some places of work have scholarships for children or grandchildren of employees. Please review the following web sites for Scholarship and Bursary Information. Each University and College has information on Scholarships and Bursaries for their own institutions on their web sites. Applications and deadlines vary from school to school so be sure to continue to research throughout the entire school year.
