A year and a half long recruiting process has landed Ava DeChellis at Valdosta State University in Georgia.

“The main goal of the journey was to find the right fit for me at a school and when it came down to my last three choices, Valdosta was the one that stood out to me and I knew it was the one. It was the one that I was immediately drawn to and the one I wanted to call home for the next four years,” she said.

Valdosta State checked all the boxes for the Grade 12 student at Notre Dame.

“I was looking for a school that really valued academics. I am a student-athlete and I believe that the student part is very crucial. When my dad and I went there, we met with academic advisors and they really care about your schooling. That was huge for me because the main thing about going to school is to have a life afterwards. With Valdosta, I can enjoy my life there and set up my future for when I leave.”
