
It’s safe to say no one appreciates competing more than Michaela Gugliemi.
Only three years ago, the 15-year-old, Grade 10 student at Notre Dame was out of action, sidelined for a year by a heart condition that required hospitalization.
Fast forward to the present, Gugliemi is back and excelling as a cross country runner.
Gugliemi placed first in the junior girls category Wednesday at the Niagara Catholic Athletic Association Zone 2 cross country meet at Fireman’s Park in Niagara Falls.
