Julia Tremeer checked all the boxes when it came to being one of six students chosen for a $5,000 Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations’ Brian Maxwell Memorial Scholarship Award.
The graduating Notre Dame student was a fitting recipient of the award which is given to students who demonstrate honesty, integrity, compassion and an unwavering quest to accomplish the best they can, academically and athletically, while supporting their fellow team members.
“You not only have to be a stellar athlete but a stellar student and make contributions to your community through volunteer work,” Niagara Olympic Club president Sharon Stewart said.
Tremeer’s athleticism was evidenced by her 10 appearances at OFSAA in cross country and track and field and her academics are clearly shown by her 93 per cent average in Grade 12.
